Pynes Butchers win Butcher’s Shop of the Year 2012

Customers were delighted when the newly constructed Pynes of Somerset store in North Petherton was opened to the public for the first time back in November 2011.

After outgrowing its North Petherton base, Pyne’s of Somerset is now selling its locally-sourced meat, fruit, vegetables, bakery goods, fish and cider from its new store near Sedgemoor Auction Centre at Junction 24 of the M5.

Owner Malcolm Pyne said: “Consumers are now totally conditioned to shopping in supermarkets so it’s up to independent traders like us to offer them similar standards of lay-out, product presentation and convenience of shopping – and that’s what we are determined to offer here.”

Established more than 25 years ago, Pyne’s has been named the best butcher’s shop in Southern England, twice. More recently, they won the Best Butcher’s Shop of the Year 2012 award, beating off stiff competition from across the country.
